Steve had been an active member of OFC since 1967, later becoming a Resident. In more recent times he run the club almost single handed. Steve died on 8th March 2024 after a short illness. This evening is a tribute to Steve’s tireless devotion to the club. The first part of the evening will be for singers to participate. The rest of the evening will be devoted to planned performances by various previously organised singers and residents dedicated to songs or tunes that Steve played or liked.
Folk infused singer songwriter Lizzy Hardingham sings songs that drive straight to the heart, giving audiences a chance for genuine connection and empathy. Hardingham is paving her way as a powerhouse performer with beautifully delivered songs, her wonderful voice grabbing the listener from the very first note and holding on until the last. Think Christine Collister, Joni Mitchell, Sandy Denny and KT Tunstall all wrapped into one.
Reviews:
"One of the strongest voices on our scene today" James Fagan For Thank Goodness It's Folk.
"One of the most distinctive voices since Sandy Denny." Celtic Music Radio.
"It’s been said by more or less anyone that’s ever been anywhere near a Lizzy Hardingham performance, but her vocal power is exhilarating. When she’s opened the vocal floodgates and let the notes flood out, I’m inclined not to care where I end up. I’m along for the ride." At The Barrier.
