Mrs Casey Records MCRCD7003
Ruth Notman is an 18 year old singer and songwriter from Nottingham.  In 2006 she reached the finals of the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award and since then she has toured extensively across the UK and sung at various festivals including Towersey, One World and Bromyard.
For her debut album she has written 4 tracks, 5 are trad and the others are ‘Caledonia’, Nic Jones’ ‘Billy Don’t you weep for me’, and Richard Thompson’s ‘Farewell Farewell’.
She is accompanied by Saul Rose (melodeon), Hannah Edmonds (cello), Roger Wilson (fiddle) and harmonies from Bella Hardy.  She also plays a nice guitar and piano.
Vocally she has a remarkable voice which seems to change its timbre according to the needs of the song.  On some it is soft and ‘girlie’ and on others it is quite harsh.
Ruth is a superlative talent and desen/es to be highly successful.
