Half a Fruit Pie (Fellside FECD 181)
Benji Kirkpatrick is the son of accordion/melodeon maestro John. Unlike his father his has opted for strings rather than free reeds and mainly plays bouzouki and guitar. Benji has written most of the tunes so he can chose interesting titles like 'Half a Fruit Pie' and 'Unclothed Nocturnal Manuscript Crisis'. Song wise he performs several traditional ballads such as 'The Holland Handkerchief' and 'The Ship Carpenter'
He is joined by JK, Seth Lakeman (fiddle) and Richard Adams (drums) for more rocky material, for instance 'Toxic Haze' about the irritations of driving.
