James Scott Skinner

The Strathspey King C0MD2084

James Scott Skinner was born in 1843 and died in 1927. He continued the line of great Scottish traditional fiddlers, incorporating classical idioms in his playing. He wrote hundreds of tunes, many of which like 'The Laird o'Drumblair', Bonnie Lass o' Bon Accord and 'The President' are classics. These are original recordings of the great fiddle maestro, with piano accompaniment, recorded between 1905- 1922. Obviously the recording quality isn't up to modern standards, even with the digital mastering and I think this CD would appeal mainly to aficionados.
