Strune

Traditional music from Macedonia EUCD 1770

Strune are a six-piece ensemble that play trumpet, bass, fiddles, accordion, guitar and vocals. The material features the complex rhythm patterns of European music -Dvajspetorka is a dance in 25/8. We also have the strange titles 'I am walking on the street', 'A big tree has grown', 'A fire broke out'.
Of the 20 titles, 12 are listed as trad- and for me these are the most appealing. I found Dvajspetorka is well worth a listen and Makendonsko oro (Macedonian Dance) is very lyrical.
